The Northern Ireland Tourist Board are proudly supporting Food NI at this year’s Good Food Pavilion at the Balmoral Show. This year the food pavilion is even bigger and better than ever, with three cookery theatres, the Taste Adventure for children and a shop and drop area, all designed to demonstrate that our food is so good.
The quality of local producers in the NI Good Food Pavilion this year is unparalleled. Visitors can graze through the artisan area and sample the best of local produce; or sit down and enjoy a demonstration from the country’s finest chefs, who will be showing visitors how to create wonderful dishes with the wide range of products on offer in the pavilion.
The Northern Ireland Signature Kitchen will showcase the cream of our hospitality Chef’s, with the likes of The Cuan and Lough Erne Resort cooking up a storm. They will be accompanied by popular local food celebrity and BBC broadcaster Paula McIntyre.
Rosemary Lightbody from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board said, “We are delighted to be working with Food NI and to be supporting the Northern Ireland Signature Kitchen at this year’s Good Food Pavilion. A line-up of talented local chefs will undertake demonstrations showcasing the wealth of quality local produce available. By using it creatively, they will promote the fact that Northern Ireland can offer a high quality food experience for both domestic and international visitors. We’re also delighted that Paula McIntyre has been able to join us, bringing her expertise and enthusiasm to the kitchen along with her unique ability to engage with audiences and unravel some of the unique stories behind the ingredients and dishes.”
The highlight of the pavilion will be the Cookery Theatres, where dedicated chefs will be cooking up delicious signature dishes from each region of Northern Ireland throughout the three days. The NI Signature Kitchen is sure to get visitors interested in buying local produce and looking for local produce on restaurant menus. Chefs from James Street South Cookery School will be showing how visitors can enjoy the experience of cooking with local Northern Ireland produce as well as eating it!
Be sure to check Facebook and the Website for timetables for the three days!
