Bread, Blues and Bikes is the theme of a three day spectacular event planned for Castle Ward, Strangford, Co Down on the May bank holiday weekend, Saturday 25 – Monday 27 May, 2013.
The National Trust have once again joined forces with Down District Council to deliver an extravaganza of activities across the festival weekend commencing with an ultimate bake-off on Saturday 25 May.
French Master Baker Richard Bertinet who was the BBC Food Champion in 2010 and a regular contributor to TV Food and Magazines programmes along with many of the regular faces from the 2012 event. Celebrity headline celebrity chefs will be announced shortly.
Visitors can once again enjoy baking demonstrations, breads and foods from around the world, taster sessions and a raft of bread related activities such as:-

Kick back and relax on the front lawn with Carolyn Stewart as she takes you through the days events with great music and plenty of fun, games and some competitions also. There will be interviews on stage with the celebrity chefs and plenty to whet your appetite as your visit the global destinations and sample their breads and fine foods around the Castle Ward Estate.
Finish off the evening with live music on the front lawn with U105 DJ Maurice Jay and his band Pleasuredome who will provide musical entertainment in the evening with his throw back to the 80’s band. Amongst their playlist will be favourite anthems from Blondie to Bon Jovi and Duran Duran to Wham! So its perfect to sit back and picnic on the front lawn at Castle ward.

Blues is the theme of day two when the grounds open at 4pm for the music legend Van Morrison.
Monday 27th May 2013
To complete the festival weekend, bikers from across Ireland are encouraged to get on their motorbikes, push bikes and vintage bikes and tour around Strangford Lough for the third festival day on Monday 27 May, bikers can complete their ride by relaxing on the front lawn at Castle Ward while listening to the amazing sounds of the Illegal Eagles and local girls the Wildflowers as they perform in an afternoon open air concert.
