Christmas at the Dundrum Inn is set to be something truly special this year. Since picking up the Taste of Northern Ireland Award at the Northern Ireland Tourism Awards this restaurant has been establishing their status as one of the best restaurants in County Down.
At only 26 years of age, talented Head Chef Paul Cunningham has devoted his time to profiling the produce of suppliers in the County Down area. Every season he creates a new menu so that his customers can sample seasonal produce at its best, served up in a creative and innovative way, and his Christmas menu is set to be even more exciting.
Starters will include ham hock rillettes with sweet potato puree, spiced apple chutney and calvados jus, as well as duck liver parfait on toasted brioche with a grape chutney. Mains will of course include the traditional turkey and honey glazed ham with chestnut stuffing and cranberry and orange compote, but for the more adventurous festive eaters there will be Parma wrapped cod on pumpkin and ravioli or peppered loin of venison.
Paul Cunningham, Head Chef, the Dundrum Inn said;
“Our Christmas menu will have some classic dishes and others that people might not be expecting. What we have created is a menu using as many local ingredients and suppliers as possible, to offer traditional food with a modern twist.”
Paul is known in the area for producing mouth-watering combinations of ingredients, as well as presenting his dishes to the highest possible standards. His passion for food and enthusiasm for each dish is apparent in every meal served at the Dundrum Inn.
