All the fun of the Autumnal ‘Fare’ at Canteen at the MAC
Tasty autumnal delights, locally produced craft beer tasting, and a master class into making the best coffee in Belfast – Canteen at the MAC is offering it all during the month of October.
Friday 4th October will see the award-winning restaurant, located in the heart of the MAC kick-off a bountiful month-long series of food and drink events to rival any in the city.
Sharon Wright, director JRS Catering, explains: “With Belfast Restaurant Week just around the corner, we wanted to extend our offering throughout the month of October and really celebrate all that is good about Northern Ireland food and drink.
“Wednesday 2nd October will see us launch our first ever Champagne & Oysters Evening – celebrating the local seafood and of course bubbly from our wine partner Gap Wines.
“Next Friday will see us host our hugely popular, monthly Jazz Supper with Jonny Mac & Scott Flanigan.
“Kicking off our Restaurant Week event schedule, we have a Craft Beer and Cider Tasting on Saturday 5 October – this is already proving very popular and filling up very fast.
“Having recently been listed as one of the top 50 coffee shops in the UK and also launching our own dedicated Brew Bar, we have decided to take this one step further and launch a Coffee Brew Master class where Hugh Gilmartin, coffee expert with over 25 years’ experience in the coffee industry will teach us how to make the perfect cup of coffee in Canteen.
“The last Belfast Restaurant Week event will be held on Thursday 10th October will see us host our special Art of Food & Wine night, where we’ll take you Around the World in 80 Minutes with a taste of wines from across the globe, accompanied by delicious tasting dishes. This is a culinary journey you won’t want to miss.
“Rounding off the month we will be also be hosting our Spanish Guitarist night, complete with wine and tapas (Friday 18th and Sat 19th October) in celebration of Belfast Festival at Queens where local guitarist Aiden Mulholland will explore various styles of Spanish music.
“And finally on Friday 1st November we are holding Heaven or Hell Food event – where diners will be given a choice between ‘Food Heaven’ or ‘Food Hell’ with heaven being served upstairs and hell on the ground floor.
Sharon concluded, “All in all, we have a full autumn schedule which we hope will help celebrate our wonderful array of produce, all sourced from Northern Ireland.”
