Naturally North Coast & Glens are delighted to be taking part in Cushenduns Big Arts Weekend! Bringing a range of handcrafted goods, and delicious treats!
Cushendun’s Big Arts Weekend is a four day festival of music, drama, poetry, exhibitions, workshops and family fun in one of the most beautiful villages in the Glens of Antrim. Now in its fourth year the festival has something for everyone. The weekend starts with an evening of great music on Friday, Saturday’s ‘Poetry Jam’ is a firm favourite and Sunday’s Sandcastle competition on the beautiful beach is not to be missed. Saturday’s play adds some drama to the weekend.
Cushendun is a very picturesque village and well worth a visit at any time. Designed by Clough Williams-Ellis who also designed world famous Portmeirion. Cushendun has been home to many artists and writers including Louis MacNeice and John Masefield. The beautiful beach and lovely Glendun are at their best in May and while you’re here you might want to pop into the spectacular caves featured in the Game of Thrones.
With so much going on during the festival make sure to come for the whole weekend.
The festival celebrates the rich culture and spectacular landscape of Cushendun and the Glens of Antrim and there are talks, walks and workshops to take part in. Don’t miss the painting exhibition in Glenmona House and be sure to visit the Old Church to see the beautiful art installation created for the festival.
Events take place in different venues around the village including the National Trust property Glenmona House which is open throughout the weekend.
